My favourite childhood book:
It’s a bit “unusual”, but The Magnamund Companion by Joe Dever and another - maybe Gary Chalk? I am reliably informed that it is extremely rare nowadays. Luckily, I have two copies (both mine forever).

Melbourne now has a dedicated Lost Cats’ Home - a sanctuary and facility for the re-homing of savable homeless cats.
This is a brand new facility, specifically designed to prevent the spread of feline influenza among the cats waiting for adoption.
This is AWESOME.
